What is “Musica di Seta”

“Musica di Seta” was born from the twenty-year experience of the female singer-songwriter. guitarist and composer Chiara Raggi, on the still warm ashes of a pandemic. A brand dedicated to the music made by the women through the creation of a record label, an online magazine and an event’s organization.
“Musica di Seta” was born with the goal of creating a place where women song-writers can find a respectful way to work with music and people. It is a home where we grow and build our future. A real community.
The label is dedicated to the production, commercialization and promotion of albums written and sung by women singer-songwriters, in the sign of the constant research of creativity and originality.
The Magazine narrates the music made by the women through insights, headings, playlists and dedicated services. It is a place where music is made, we speak about music and women musicians, we share contents, events, interviews, albums, book’s comments and everythings that belongs to this artistic universe giving space and instruments in order to make emerge, know and promote the refind and of quality music made by women.

Who is Chiara Raggi

Chiara Raggi is an Italian woman singer-songwriter, guitarist and composer.
She graduated at only twenty in Classical Guitar at the Conservatory “Giovanni Lettimi” of Rimini, she attended the master degree TESPI, in musical direction and scenic art, at the Conservatory of Turin “Giuseppe Verdi” and she graduated in quality of lyric’s author at CET Centro Europeo di Toscolano, founded and directed by Mogol in 2009.
She has made four albums so far: “Molo 22” (2009), “Disordine” (2015), “Blua Horizonto” (2019), sung in Esperanto, and “La Natura e la Pazienza” (2020).
Chiara is the only woman songwriter in Italy to have chosen Esperanto as another expression of her own music, because fascinated by the musicality of this language and by all that it represents for her: an idea of equality and a strong and unique expressing freedom.
She is founder and director of the brand “Musica di Seta”, dedicated to music made by women through the creation of a record label, an online magazine and event’s organization.
She is artistic director of Rassegna “Eco di Donna Evolution”, an event born in 2019 in Rimini which wants to valorize and giving space to music made by women both through concerts and through cultural meetings about women’s writing.
Since 2018 she is teacher of Songwriting at Scuola Holden of Alessandro Baricco in Turin.
She cooperates with Radio Televisione Svizzera Italiana (RSI) for which she has realized “Anime Salve” in 2020 produced by Sergio Albertoni and she has participated to the special episodes dedicated to the music made by women with the music journalist Fausto Pellegrini and to the eighty-years Francesco Guccini with music critic and writer Paolo Talanca.
She was a finalist at “Premio Nazionale Bianca D’Aponte 2018” dedicated to the music made by women, then she won the “Premio Suoni dall’Italia” given to her by Mariella Nava. In September 2019 she received the “Premio Castrovillari d’Autore” which wants to reward relevant figures of the national scene who stood out for having realized concerts, albums, productions and works giving importance to the italian music made by women. In August 2020 she received one of the most important awards of the Esperanto world, the certificate of merit “Elstara Arta Agado” assigned to personalities which contribute in an original and important way to the diffusion and the divulgation of the Esperanto language in the world.
In 2008 she won the selection organized by Giovani Artisti Italiani (G.A.I.) and she participated to the prestigious “XIII Biennale dei Giovani Artisti dell’Europa e del Mediterraneo”, representing Piemonte’s region in the music section.
She is an interpreter and author, together with Fabiola Fenili, of the web serie “Le disAvventure di un Cantautore [Femmina]”, which has arrived in all the Giometti Cinemas distributed on the national territory as the opening of the animation film “Coco” by Disney-Pixar and also in television on ICARO TV, channel 91 on digital TV.
From 2018 to 2020 for three seasons she was author and presenter of the weekly heading “Cantautore [Femmina]: canto e dico cose”, which is live every wednesday in the morning at 10.00 on ICARO TV, channel 91 on digital TV.
In March 2018 she gave birth, together with Fabiana Ferrandino and the guitarist Paola Selva, to the heading dedicated to the women’s activity with the guitar “GUITAR LADIES”, which is monthly insert of the paper magazine “CHITARRA ACUSTICA” in which she writes, speaks and tells about guitars and women guitarists.
In 2017 Chiara joined the “musical family” of Aramini Strumenti Musicali (Bologna) as an endorser for the brands “Effedot Guitars” and “Leho Ukuleles”.
